A Message for All Millenniums

Jude 24-25 (KJV)

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you fautless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

In these closing days of the century we have heard from many Christians predicting gloom and doom for the world. However, the Bible predicts nothing but future joy for those who know Christ. This doxology of Jude is an expression of praise for what Christ does for His people.

  1. Our situation is complex... "to him who is able to keep you from falling..."
Every Christian is susceptible to falling into sin. We all have an aptitude to fall away. What is it that contributes to a professing Christian falling away in his walk with Christ?
    1. The problem within us... as Paul struggled (Romans 7) so we struggle daily.
Someone is said to have once wished that there were a window in his heart, so that one could look in and see what was there. I would definitely need mine with blinds.
    2. The people around us... culture, friends, and associates pull us away form God.
It is definitely a challenge to live the life Christ has called us to live in this world. Some of you may get absolutely NO support at home. This makes it very, very tough.
    3. The pattern before us... we have seen in our study of Jude that the people of Israel, after seeing all the miracles of God in Egypt believed not; the angels in heaven kept not their first estate, and even people in Jude's day were falling into apostasy. What of us?
  2. Our Savior is capable... "to him who is able to keep you from falling..."
Yes, yes, yes, we have an aptitude to fall away from God. BUT Christ is able to keep us!
    1. The Savior keeps us from falling... this is why you will never ultimately deny Him!
This is why you will never ultimately reject the Savior and live in your sin. He keeps! Even you stumbling steps and faltering feet are sustained by God's grace and power.
    2. The Savior presents us faultless... this is the word "blameless" or "innocent." When you get to heaven, you are presented by Christ "in His glorious presence" without sin! This is all a work that He does! YOU Have absolutely nothing to do with it! It is grace.
    3. The Savior gives us "exceeding joy"... for all you who have lost that joy in the death of a loved on or in the broken pieces of your own life, look up! Exultation is coming!
  3. Our salvation is complete... "to him... be glory... both now and forever. Amen."
The praise that comes from your heart to God is in direct proportion to your understanding of His complete and satisfactory work in you. His purpose for you will not fail!
    1. Praise Him now...
Thank Him now for His work within you, for His grace and mercy. Your praise of Christ will continue in heaven, but it is to begin now!
    2. Praise Him knowledgeably...
      1. He alone has the wisdom...
      2. He alone has the glory and majesty...
      3. He alone has the power and dominion...
In essence, the book of Jude closes with a reminder to us all that "Salvation is of the Lord." He has a purpose for His people that He will accomplish. This world and all her problems are simply backdrops for the incredible theater of grace where God is the director in all ages.
This is the message for all millenniums.
