Our world is filled with tragedy. The bombing of the World Trade Center is this generation's Pearl Harbor. At 8;34 a.m., September 11, 2011, AA Flight 11 tore into the north tower of the World Trade Center in New York. Twenty minutes later, UA Flight 175 flew into the south tower. By day's end, nearly 3,000 men, women and children were dead. It was the bloodiest day in U.S. history since the end of the Civil War in 1865. Where was God in the midst of this tragedy? For that matter, where is God in the midst of evil?
Matthew 26:47-50 (KJV)
And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people. Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast. And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him. And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him.
Romans 8:6 (ESV)
For to set the mind of the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
Romans 16:19-20a (KJV)
Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I am full of joy over you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.
